‘Cracking’ vs ‘Non-Cracking’
Sometimes I have a new patient ask me if I do “cracking or non-cracking adjustments”. What they tend to mean by this is will I be adjusting them by hand or with an instrument.
Traditionally, chiropractic adjustments are performed by hand. In fact, the word “chiropractic” is from the Greek chiro meaning hand and prakitkos meaning do.
Since it’s inception, there have been several innovations in the delivery of the chiropractic adjustment.
I can say from personal experience that all of these ways benefit the patient. In my practice, I will use both by hand and by instrument adjusting depending on the patient.
